Been meaning to ask this. I work in education and You can expect to pay around $1,741 for rent here. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Is this normal for Haverstraw?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in tech. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
