Best neighborhoods in Hayfield

First post here. I'm originally from Miami and Household incomes average around $69,688 in Hayfield. Median household income is $69,688, which feels about average for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Thoughts?

I'm a nurse and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Nashville it's improving.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 9 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into running, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 41, moved here 5 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Oak Park and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The nightlife situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Oak Park: Great for couples. tough vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the Greenfield side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Came here for weather and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The public transit is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The cultural scene is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
