Hays vs Atlanta -which is better?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $890 for rent here. Homes are going for about $220,100 on average. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I wrong here? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great sushi places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Used to live on the Westside side, now on the Springfield side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Westside area are solid. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in South for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- The safety scene is solid

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.
