Not sure if this has been asked before, but My partner and I are Rent is about $2,360/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $820,700 on average. With a population of 159K, Hayward is a mid-size city. Poverty rate is 6.5%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
