Anyone else love living in Hazel Crest?

Longtime lurker here, I'm originally from Tucson and You can expect to pay around $1,439 for rent here. Median household income is $62,773, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $181,400 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Close to nature
- Strong sense of community
- Walkable downtown
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Limited cultural events
- Not enough green space
Worth the trade-offs? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Maple Ridge area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
