How much do you pay for rent in Hazelwood?

Hi all, I'm single, late 50s, and Poverty rate is 13.1%, which is around average. With a population of 25,214, Hazelwood is a smaller city. Rent is about $956/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Hazelwood sits at 449.4 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Chain restaurants dominate
Am I wrong here? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I've been here 4 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
