Just moved to Hazelwood, any tips?

Curious what people think. The median home value here is around $154,900, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $55,930 in Hazelwood. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Does this match your experience? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in education. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Definitely worth checking out..
