Worst things about Hazelwood nobody talks about

First post here. Poverty rate is 13.1%, which is around average. You can expect to pay around $956 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Would love some local perspective. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
