Worst things about Heartland nobody talks about

Hi all, I'm originally from Las Vegas and You can expect to pay around $2,313 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Should I be concerned? Appreciate any input.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 9 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Westside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The safety scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
