Worst things about Helena nobody talks about

Hi all, I'm originally from Seattle and You can expect to pay around $1,420 for rent here. Rent is about $1,420/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Helena? The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Moved here from LA about 15 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to walkability but Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in finance. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

No regrets on my end..
