Working in Henderson -salaries realistic?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 17.9%, which is higher than I expected. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I wrong here?

Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.
