Hailey Castillo housing

First time home buyer in Henderson

Homes are going for about $166,900 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Henderson? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much competitive but now it's hit or miss.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Cedar Grove. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in tech. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 10 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the West side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
