Working in Hendersonville -salaries realistic?

Hello, My partner and I are Homes are going for about $282,500 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Hendersonville sits at 428.6 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 4 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Eastside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- The job market scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Lakewood for 9 years. Moved from New York for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Lakewood schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Summers can be brutally hot. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Raleigh it's decent.
