Living in Hendersonville -the reality

Hi all, The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is excellent.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Hope this helps!.
