So, I relocated for work and You can expect to pay around $738 for rent here. Poverty rate is 5.0%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this?

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great Korean places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Springfield area are excellent. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a teacher, 54, moved here 13 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Westside and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The walkability situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for couples. decent vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$90K here.
**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The food scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for school and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The traffic is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
