Worst things about Hercules nobody talks about

Been living here since 2023. The median home value here is around $741,200, which is pretty steep. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Is this normal for Hercules? The suburbs are where most families end up.

I've lived in Fairview for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The school system scene is tough

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..
