Hermosa Beach in the winter -how bad?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 4 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community vibe is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
