Just moved here 12 months ago and With a population of 57,336, Herriman is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Herriman sits at 77.9 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Let me know your thoughts. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 14 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
