First post here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Is this normal for Hershey? Thanks!

I work in consulting here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is decent. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Cedar Grove area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much wild but now it's solid.
