Anyone regret moving to Hesperia?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I relocated for work and Median household income is $68,971, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $366,800 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Hesperia sits at 481.7 per 100K. It's a a mid-size city city with about 100K people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Is this normal for Hesperia? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Old Town for 6 years. Moved from Baltimore for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Chain restaurants dominate. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The food scene is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.
