Cost of living reality check -Hesperia

Anyone else feel this way? My partner and I are It's a a mid-size city city with about 100K people. Crime rate is something to consider -Hesperia sits at 481.7 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely underrated and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Riverside) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is solid in most areas.
