Moving to Hesperia -what should I know?

So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a mid-size city city with about 100K people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I overthinking this?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Seattle it's solid.

I'm a accountant and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 13 years. Moved from San Diego for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is average - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Not very walkable outside downtown. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I've lived in Westside for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The public transit scene is average

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in South area are decent. Kids love it here.
