First post here. We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Hesperia? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The nightlife scene is solid
The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The cost of living is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in tech. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Uptown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
