Is Hickory worth it salary-wise?

Anyone else feel this way? Just moved here 5 months ago and The median home value here is around $248,300, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $248,300 on average. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Anyone in a similar situation? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 9 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
