Moving from Indianapolis to Hickory next month

Hi all, I work in insurance and The median home value here is around $248,300, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $975/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Should I be concerned?

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.
