Weekend activities in Hicksville?

Hello, Been living here since 2021. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $3,005 for rent here. The median home value here is around $617,100, which is pretty steep. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Has anyone dealt with this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Came here for weather and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The housing market is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 11 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
