I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $1,338 for rent here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Let me know your thoughts. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Pittsburgh it's underrated.

I work in education here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from LA about 8 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.
