Top 5 things I love about Highland Heights

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Just moved here 12 months ago and Homes are going for about $342,400 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,665 for rent here. The median home value here is around $342,400, which seems about average. It's a a small town city with about 8,619 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. Would love some local perspective. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely decent and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Westside) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
