My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 12 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Austin about 1 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been here 2 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
