Is Highland Park worth it salary-wise?

Anyone else feel this way? I grew up here but left for a while. Crime rate is something to consider -Highland Park sits at 98.0 per 100K. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a smaller city city with about 30,229 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much affordable but now it's solid.
