Hey, I've been here for 19 years and Household incomes average around $101,991 in Highland Park. The median home value here is around $463,600, which is pretty steep. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Highland) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Dallas it's tough.
