Best companies to work for in Highlands Ranch?

First post here. Military spouse here. Homes are going for about $672,600 on average. Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Highlands Ranch sits at 89.2 per 100K. Rent is about $2,397/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 29, moved here 14 years ago from Raleigh. I've lived in Old Town and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The safety situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for retirees. tough vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Raleigh, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
