Unpopular opinion about Hill 'n Dale

Hello, Average temperature is around 72--F, so it's warm year-round. The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 19.3%, which is higher than I expected. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Close to nature
- Easy commute

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
- Boring for young people
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Should I be concerned? The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The cost of living is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
