Considering Hillcrest Heights vs New York -help me decide

Homes are going for about $340,500 on average. Rent is about $1,446/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 8.0%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Has anyone dealt with this? The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Greenfield area are improving. Kids love it here.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.
