Affordable areas near Hillcrest?

Hi all, I'm a 29-year-old software engineer and Median household income is $77,609, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,158/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cheers. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.
