Day-to-day life in Hillsboro, OR
Alright, I'm a college student here and It's a a mid-size city city with about 107K people. Poverty rate is 5.6%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $483,400 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thanks for reading. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
