Alright, Been living here since 2009. With a population of 107K, Hillsboro is a mid-size city. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Would love some local perspective.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in engineering. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 3 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is average in most areas.
