Anyone else feel this way? I'm originally from Denver and You can expect to pay around $3,501 for rent here. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've lived in Fairview for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- The public transit scene is average
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 9 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
