Moving to Hilmar-Irwin -what should I know?

First post here. I'm originally from Denver and With a population of 6,317, Hilmar-Irwin is a small town. The median home value here is around $420,600, which is pretty steep. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Any advice would be great. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Moved here from Atlanta about 11 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to walkability but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.
