Best areas to explore in Hilo?

First post here. My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $78,713 in Hilo. Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Moved here from San Francisco about 14 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to dating scene but Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The healthcare is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The food scene is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..
