Is Hingham getting better or worse?

First post here. Military spouse here. You can expect to pay around $1,066 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Hingham sits at 125.2 per 100K. With a population of 5,343, Hingham is a small town. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Active local events
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Limited cultural events
Should I be concerned? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much stable but now it's average.
