Why I chose Hobart over bigger cities

Curious what people think. Rent is about $1,226/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Seattle about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is average.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..
