Anyone regret moving to Hoboken?

Curious what people think. I'm retired and Homes are going for about $872,100 on average. You can expect to pay around $2,819 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Worth the trade-offs?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely underrated and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (West) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
