Best areas to explore in Hoboken?

Anyone else feel this way? Household incomes average around $176,943 in Hoboken. The median home value here is around $872,100, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $872,100 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 58,340 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I overthinking this? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 15 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in government. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.
