Commute times in Hoboken -how bad?

So, We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $2,819 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I overthinking this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much competitive but now it's surprisingly good.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The cost of living is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Midtown for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The pet-friendliness scene is solid

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The community vibe is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (East) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
