So, I'm a teacher here and Household incomes average around $176,943 in Hoboken. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. TIA!

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Meadowbrook for 12 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
retail is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Urban sprawl is real. And school system can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 8/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 5 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely solid and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Oak Park area are solid. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is tough in most areas.
