Random thought, I'm originally from Salt Lake City and The median home value here is around $872,100, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Should I be concerned? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The community vibe is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for school and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The public transit is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to San Diego it's hit or miss.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from LA about 14 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..
