Hoffman Estates quality of life -am I missing something?

I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $340,400 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 51,186 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots?

Bought a house here in 2023 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
