Is Hoffman Estates good for remote workers?

I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $1,764 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Let me know your thoughts.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Dallas about 5 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
