Holbrook quality of life -am I missing something?

Median household income is $107,768, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $107,768 in Holbrook. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Cold winters
- Boring for young people
- Not enough green space
Any advice would be great. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 57, moved here 1 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Pine Hills and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The dating scene situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for remote workers. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $90K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The healthcare is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
